WEAPONS (REVISED)

Weapons

Weapons what are your uses?
You are too ignorant to
Work by yourselves
You need to manipulate man in order
For you to seem significant
Why?
You like to see people suffer because of
Your protection
Weapons what are your uses?
Weapons, you are
Honored as machinery to protect
You are misleading humankind
You have another purpose, another vindictive scheme
You like to see sadness let’s see some…
Weapons you are phony
Weapons what is your true use?
What is your true identity?
Why do people love your nature?

Faith

Faith

By Kathleen Monahan
Stairs with rotten wood
The hazard
Of walking up but your dream is
At the top of the staircase

You take caution as you place your foot
On the first step
Take a deep breath
And continue to walk up

Creek creek creek snap!
The railing just came off
That doesn’t stop you
Left foot right foot
You are almost there

Spider webs begin to disappear
And the stairs start
to get sturdier
As you remember the
struggle to get here

You made it through
And filled you with strength
You reached your destination

LIFE (REVISED)

Kathleen Monahan

Life

I look carefully
Down at the cement
Below my feet

Gray colored
It has gone through
Many calamities

Its age can be seen
In the cracks
So deep from a variety
Of weather that passed

Day and Night
Night to day
Months to months
Years upon years
It began to wither away

Yet with the sunlight
Available to the
Walls of the split cement
A Blade of grass
Begins to grow.

Weapons Aren't The Answer

Kathleen Monahan

Weapons

Weapons what are your uses?
You are too frightened to
Work by yourselves
You need to manipulate man in order
For you to seem significant
Why?
You like to see people suffer because of
Your function
Weapons what are your uses?
Weapons, you like to e honored as machinery to protect
You are misleading man
You have another purpose, another vindictive scheme
You like to see sadness
Weapons you are dangerous
Weapons what is your true use?
What is your true identity?
Why are people misguided by you?
Are you just that good at hiding your true nature?
Maybe...

The Beach REVISION

The Beach
By: Kathleen Monahan

Something’s happening,
The wind blows
Softly against the Ocean,
Boats are lined up at the Horizon

Relaxation begins
To grow
The view becomes
A massage for my
Eyes

No matter what
This is the sands
home
When a bad day
Comes along
Someone will eventually find
Their way,
Here
To create a
Clear frame of mind.

Transition REVISION #2

Transition
By: Kathleen Monahan

Trees
Shades of green
A warm breeze
brushes my skin

Change is coming

Summer is ending
The leaves begin
To become more fragile
The green softens on some
One speaking of the past
With its yellow shades
Slowly becoming more golden

Change is coming

Autumn is here
The variety of oranges,
Yellows, reds, and browns
Are wonderful to view
There is a cool crisp
Chill in the air.

The Beach

The Beach

Something’s happening,
The wind flows
Swiftly against the Ocean,
Boats are lined up against the
Horizon

Relaxation begins
To swell up inside me
The view becomes
A massage for my
Eyes

Beauty that lies
Before me
Is a blessing
Created by the
Great one

It gets taken
Advantage of
Because it is here
Everyday
This is what saddens me
The most

No matter what
The sand will still stay
And the waves will still
Sway
When a bad day
Comes along
Someone will eventually find
Their way,
HERE.

GUARDIAN ANGEL REVISION

"Guardian Angel"
REVISION
By: Kathleen Monahan

You left me
With no goodbye
or anything
but still
that
won’t make
me angry

I have
Memories to live with
The days grow longer
Each hour seems
Less painful,
It’s the heart that
Wants you near

I wish one day
you could come
back
But I know
I have to be strong
And keep
Walking down the
Path I’m on

It’s your voice
that connects
all of my emotions
what keeps me going is
one day
I will see you
Again.

Shades of green
Flow from afar A warm breeze
brushes against my skin

Change is coming

The leaves begin
To become more fragile
The green softens on some
One speaking of the past
By its deep color of green
The other of the future
The green begins to fade

Change is coming

It is all different now
The variety of oranges,
Yellows, reds, and browns
Are wonderful to view
There is a cool crisp
Chill in the air.
It is here.

Shades of green
Flow from afar
A warm breeze
Touches my face

Change is coming

The leaves begin
To become more fragile
The green softens on some
Two different branches
On the same tree
One speaks of the past
The other shows the future

Change is coming

It is all different now
The variety of oranges,
Yellows, reds, and browns
Are almost magical
There is a cool crisp
Chill in the air.
It is here.

Guardian Angel

"Guardian Angel"
By: Kathleen Monahan

You left me
With no goodbye
or anything
but that still
wont make me mad

Because I have
Memories to live
off of, That Kind of
Makes me glad

I wish one day
you could come
back
even for just one
last kiss

That would only be
in my dreams
its your voice
that I really miss.

"Buttons" REVISED

Complete Destruction
REVISED

It was an Icy Day
And it was the Warmth
Of her smile
That made the Earth
Stand still

The woman searches
for her needle and thread
To create her doll innocently,

The replica of a child
can only be visualized,
Not by manipulating fabric to
Fulfill that inner need,

A Warm Home,
A Warm family,
A Warm loving acceptance
Wasn’t all as it seemed,

It was an Icy day
Full of cruel intentions
Her heart was really as cold
as day.
